Who are Carers
Unpaid carers—family members and friends who provide assistance to people living with disability, illness, chronic conditions, or age-related frailty—are an essential part of Australia’s care system (Carers Australia 2025). Home - Carers Australia
Carers are nearly half as likely to have healthy levels of wellbeing compared to the Australian population and are twice as likely to experience higher psychological distress (Mylek, M. and Schirmer, J. 2024).
